Personal Writing

From the 1st day we were told to pick a research topic, i decided to choose the war in Somalia as my research topic. I choose this topic due to my interest in the Wars that our country have taken place in, and the events that many of us have forgotten. Somalia was a war that affected the United Nations, and affected the lives of many people that lived in the United States in 1993. We decided to enter Somalia, and liberate its people to restore food, and order since the government was overthrown and killed. After starting my research i found a lot of good information on many topics that gave me information, and addressed the problems that were exactly taking place in Somalia in 1993. I also found reliable, and many real life accounts of incidents, stories, and clips that were collected by the CNN new journalists that were stationed in Somalia during the war. I decided to use military interviews as my collection of research methodology. I also will look into newspaper articles online that have been collected from 1993. Many of my personal rewards have been a better understanding of the War in Somalia and accounts that many American soldiers had to face while in the city during mission's.

  • Quotations in the final paper are one of the most important things to remember. People tend to plagiarise paper and forget to quote important facts that the authors addresses. Striving to limit yourself within considering the amount of source materials, is always a hard task due to the materials that you always must need to address. Even though 10% of your paper should be quoted, be careful not to include to much information based on the results you gather.

Social epidemics...? To help believe that many ideas, products, messages, and behaviors we find in society can be characterized by their rapid, exponential spread through our population. To allow ourselves to clearly understand the messages that are presented to us in society and learn to cope with a general understanding of the messages. Gladwell throughout his book talks about many different social phenomena's which give a basis for the messages that he was trying to present throughout his book. Secondly, there is a particular moment in time when these epidemics break loose from being contained within a small population and begin to spread. This is what Gladwell calls a tipping point. Gladwell used these spreads of population to lavish his personal ideas and begin social epidemics in society.
